What wedding video editing costs, and what moves the price
There is no single price for a wedding edit, because no two weddings hand off the same footage or need the same film. Here is what actually moves the number, so you can compare editing services fairly.
What moves the price
- Length of the film. A 60 to 90 second teaser is a very different job from a 12-minute film. We cut teasers and 3, 5, 8 and 12 minute films.
- Style. A music-led montage is quicker to build than a dialogue-led film, where vows and speeches are woven through, or a signature film with a full narrative arc and deep sound design.
- How much of the day you covered. A half day, a full day and a multi-day wedding hand over very different amounts of footage to sync and review.
- What else you need. A full ceremony edit, speeches and toasts, a vertical social cut, or the 10-day rush each add to the job.
What should be included
When you compare prices, compare what comes with them. With NarraFlo every edit includes:
- A style profile built from your past films, so the edit matches your work.
- The same editors on your films, film after film.
- A first cut within three weeks of your footage landing.
- Two rounds of revisions.
- A 4K master plus web-ready versions, with project files on request.
Speeches in Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese or Punjabi? Many editors charge extra for non-English speeches. We do not.
Per film, not per month
You pay for each film. There is no subscription, no retainer and no minimum, so a slow month costs you nothing, and a busy season does not lock you into a plan.
What editing it yourself really costs
A single wedding takes around twenty hours at the desk: syncing, the ceremony and speeches, the highlight film, then colour, sound and export. When you price an outsourced edit, weigh it against those hours, and against the wedding you could book on the Saturday you would otherwise spend editing.
